But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, 
and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:7-9 NKJV).
The devil didn’t make you do it. Your forefathers didn’t make you do it. What you have done, you have done.
Own up to your own faults, errors, and sins. The Bible tells us that people who cover over their sins will not prosper, but if they confess and forsake them, they will receive mercy (Proverbs 28:13).
God’s promise is sure.
