Moments with Marilyn – Be Filled with Faith

Being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. (Ephesians 4:3 NKJV)
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6 NKJV)
This is one of my favorite scriptures. In fact, I quote this scripture regularly in prayer. I have certain things I “believe God for.”
Sometimes the reward seems to take FOREVER, so I remind God and myself that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. When I set aside a time daily to seek Him, I know that God is going to reward me for that time I spend with Him.
Diligence brings reward; lack of diligence brings no reward. If you are diligent in praying and set aside a special time of day for prayer—genuine prayer that seeks God—then He will reward you for spending time in His presence.
In Proverbs we find that diligence also yields power and prosperity (Proverbs 12:24 and 13:4). Therefore, diligence is desirable and profitable in every area of our lives.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Put a deep desire in each of us to set aside a special time to pray. Let us set aside a special time to be in the Word—on a daily basis. We know that we cannot afford to be without the Word and prayer in our lives.
In Jesus’s Name,
Amen
And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you. Will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. (Philippians 1:6 NKJV)

I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. -(Philippians 4:12 NKJV)
Now that we know what we have—Jesus, this great High Priest with ready access to God—let’s not let it slip through our fingers. We don’t have a priest who is out of touch with our reality. He’s been through weakness and testing, experienced it all—all but the sin. So, let’s walk right up to Him and get what He is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help.- (Hebrews 4:14-16 The Message)
As with anything of spiritual value, faith is the key to receiving.
But what happens when your faith is sagging?
Are you disqualified from being blessed?
No! When your store of faith seems depleted, return to your Source.
Those we consider the strongest in faith rely heavily on the Father to fortify and guide them.
God is just fine with that.
His Word urges us to come to Him with all our needs.
What are some of your needs?
“As you read the Word and practice what it says, your faith will grow significantly and crowd out fear.” ~Marilyn Hickey
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters. (Colossians 3:23 NKJV)
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18 NKJV)
Fear torments. No one disputes that. But God’s love frees us from fear. When we realize the greatness of God’s love, then we will not be afraid.
Fear makes us immature, and PREFECT here means “mature.” We are not made mature when we allow fear to overwhelm us. The more we read God’s Word, the more we realize how much He loves us. We find His provision and His love printed on every page of our Bible. God is absolutely wild about you! He loves you, and the more you bask in His love, the more freedom you will have from fear.
The best thing about God’s love is that it is an unconditional love. God loves is always there to comfort you. When you go astray, God’s love is there to guide you back on the right path. And as God’s love fills us, it will overflow from our lips, our hearts and our spirits.
When we speak the truth in love, we begin to grow up in His Son. Speak God’s Word today, in love, and watch fear flee from you.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you today that we are set free from fear in the name of Jesus. We are set free from fear because of Jesus’s overwhelming love for us.
In Jesus’s Name,
Amen.

I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth. -(Psalm 121:1 NKJV)
Think back on a time when God delivered you from an impossible situation or an unpleasant attitude.
Can you recall how diligently you prayed, how much time you devoted to painstakingly searching the Scriptures for the promises of God?
While your deliverance is fresh in your mind, read Psalm 48, say out loud “Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, because He has delivered me (state your name) from (state the situation or condition).” Now, contemplate the mercy of your heavenly Father, who came to your rescue simply because He loves you.
Doesn’t that excite you and make you want to tell someone about how wonderful God is, how He is able to deliver you from your circumstances or attitudes?
Well?
Do it!
